Google Sites handoff

All handoffs

This page is for the person who will update the live Google Sites site after the builder leaves.

Handoff means you can sign in, change a page, and publish without the builder sitting there.

Same stuck moment that turns into a support ticket. Short steps and a video so you do not have to ping the builder.

Steps

  1. Sign in at sites.google.com with the Google account that owns the site.
  2. Open the site. Click Pages at the top right. That panel is the page list.
  3. Click the page you want to change.
  4. Click the text and type.
  5. Click the picture, then More, then Replace image, and choose the new file.
  6. Click Publish at the top right. If the site is already public, confirm the update so visitors see it.

Button names move a little between editor versions. If a label is not on your screen, stay in the same places: the page list, the text, the picture, and the button that saves or publishes.
