CapCut handoff

All handoffs

This page is for the person who will edit a short vertical video in CapCut after the builder leaves.

Handoff means you can open a project, trim a clip, set 9:16, and export without the builder sitting there.

Same stuck moment that turns into a support ticket. Short steps and a video so you do not have to ping the builder.

Need a flyer or still post first? The fuller Canva guide lives on jadexzhao Canva handoff.

Steps

  1. Open CapCut on the phone or computer and sign in if it asks.
  2. Start a new project. Import the clips or photos you want to use.
  3. Set the ratio to 9:16 (vertical) before you spend time framing. That fits TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
  4. Drag clips onto the timeline. Trim the ends. Split and delete what you do not need.
  5. Add a short caption if you want text on screen. Keep it large and near the centre so it stays readable.
  6. Tap or click Export. Save the file, then upload it in TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube when you are ready.

Button names move a little between phone and desktop. Stay in the same places: new project, Import, Ratio 9:16, the timeline, and Export.
